Cosmetic fixed braces work in the same way as traditional braces that are fixed to the teeth with a bracket and have wires attached to the teeth to gently move them into the desired position over a number of months.
The main difference is that cosmetic fixed braces are tooth coloured to minimise visual impact and offer a more discreet form of orthodontics. They are a popular option amongst both children and adults who feel that having more ‘obvious’ braces installed could adversely affect their confidence.
Cosmetic fixed braces tend to focus mainly on correcting gaps and moving crooked teeth back into the right place. They are not so effective for fixing issues with the bite – you will need to consult your orthodontists or dentist for alternative ways to address these types of issues.

Each aligner is worn for around two weeks before you move on to the next one in the series. They can be removed when you wish, for example at mealtimes, and are easy to clean and care for, which is an important factor in any longer-term procedures.
